Drop, with a warning, the non-dimensional coordinates along a dimension.

Use when an operation changes the dimension’s samples in a way its associated coordinates cannot follow, leaving their values unknown; action begins the warning, eg “Resampling”. Cell edges are left for the grid update, which drops them without a warning, and private coordinates belong to the operations which made them.
